If you are looking for someone to act as a celebrant in Scotland, this is probably the best place on the web to start. There are also many individuals who advertise their services on the web, but you probably don't know them, and you probably don't know anyone who could recommend their service or give them a character reference. You can't rely on good reviews on their website either - remember who put them there!

So, what can you do then? Well, there is celebrancy register co-ordinated by myself on behalf of The Pagan Federation (Scotland), which aims to pull together celebrants from many of the main Pagan groups in Scotland, as well as non-affiliated individuals. To be included on this register, all celebrants have to have a recommendation from a member of the Pagan Federation Scottish Council, ensuring as much as possible that they are reliable and genuine people. Legally Approved celebrants have to go through a further vetting procedure and be approved by the Registrar General for Scotland. Your enquiry, after obtaining relevant details from you, will be passed on to someone who is in the right area, and is of an appropriate branch of Paganism to be able to meet your needs. When your enquiry is received, you will be sent a letter which sets out what you can expect from a celebrant, and what your own responsibilities are to them if you decide they are appropriate for your needs. All of the celebrants are volunteers, and will expect their expenses to be paid, but they do not charge exorbitant rates.
